Conceived in 2001 as a
networking opportunity for regional fire safe councils, the Inland
Empire Fire Safe Alliance became a reality in 2003. Regular
meetings of the IEFSA provide a valuable structure for the local
councils. Some of the benefits are developing a consistent and
comprehensive message to citizens about fire safety; coordinating
efforts for grant administration, writing and reporting; a one-stop
shop for information, resources and research; and a centralized
source for sharing of updates from our cooperative govermental
agencies.
In the future, the goal of
the IEFSA is to offer fiscal sponsorship for councils not formally
incorporated, distribution of a monthly newsletter, administrative
support in handling regional contracts for equipment, labor,
projects and a provision for regional group liability
insurance.
The mission of the IEFSA is
to establish "Consistency, Continuity, Efficiency, Effectiveness,
Collaboration and Cooperation" among and within the fire safe
councils and their partners to create fire safe communities in the
Inland Empire. We are proud to work with the USDA Forest
Service, California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, San
Bernardino County, Riverside County, Natural Resource Conservation
Service, local fire protection districts and departments, resource
conservation districts, utilities, Tribal Governments, and
environmental organizations.
